Database Administrator/Database Architect

Position Description
CGI is seeking a Database Administrator/Database Architect to perform database architecture/engineering/administration support in an Agile environment. Your future duties and responsibilities
- Provide implementation guidance on cloud infrastructure, platform and software services specific to the release activities performed by the development teams and approved by Government leads.
- Implementation guidance on Oracle, Microsoft, Open Source and other technologies specific to the release activities performed by the development teams and approved by government leads.
- Platform upgrades/migrations.
- Monitoring services.
- Proactive application, platform and database tuning.
- Problem management.
- Designing and developing shared services.
- Technical expertise in design patterns, programming languages, implementation approaches, data migration and other technical areas related to application and database development.
- Assistance with technology insertions into the customer's environment.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 5+ years experience
- Experience working with databases (Oracle and MS SQL Server preferred)
- Experience with XML
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to collaborate with teammates on developing solutions
- Proficiency with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments
- A Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field

*This position requires US Citizenship and the ability to pass an EOD clearance
