Operations Research Analyst (Job Number:420989)
SAIC has a contingent job opening for a Operations Research Analyst. This position will be located in Ft. Leavenworth Kansas and will be supporting the TRADOC G2. This position is contingent upon contract award.
The candidate selected will serve as the Analyst to provide Operational Environment (OE) and Threat Analysis for TRADOC Standard Scenario Development. JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected candidates shall provide analytical support for scenario integration into the common TRAC and TRADOC G-2 mapping tool, currently Command and Control Personal Computer (C2PC), for input into TRAC combat models. The TRAC models and simulations utilizing these scenarios are the Advanced Warfighting Simulation (AWARS) model, Irregular Warfare Tactical Wargame (IW TWG), Combat XXI, and One Semi-Automated Forces (OneSAF). Specific focus in this PWS is toward the OneSAF model.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. May collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, service, or products. May develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation. Interprets results and formulates insights and findings underpinned by the data analysis. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee). Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. Work is reviewed by supervisor/lead to measure meeting objectives. Directs established guidelines, procedures and policies. PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of the variety of factors. FREEDOM TO ACT: Works under general direction on routine work. May receive detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. IMPACT: Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in allocation of additional resources. LIASON: Primarily internal company contacts. Infrequent inter-organizational andoutside customer contacts on routine matters.
Basic Education, Skills and Experience:
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution. In addition to educational requirement, a minimum of three (3) + years of related experience.
Three plus years developing advanced technological ideas and guiding their development into a final product. Three plus years work experience in engineering or operations research with an emphasis in project/study management and at analyses of the type required by this PWS. Experience as a US military field grade officer. Three plus years’ experience in developing and updating Tables of Organization and Equipment (TOE) and Weapons, Sensors, and Munitions Lists (WMSL).
Personnel will have experience with U.S. Army protocols, Army writing style, and how such protocols relate to writing memorandums, information papers, white papers, and briefings.
US Citizensjip and Active Secret Clearance required.
