National Grid is offering an opportunity for recent college graduates as part of a major business transformation program called Gas Enablement. These positions will be located in Waltham, MA and may require travel across National Grid’s US footprint in NY, MA and RI.
The selected graduates will be part of the main program team working closely with the gas business, IS, HR and supporting consultants. Graduates will also have the opportunity to access various Learning and Development offerings to enhance skills and knowledge of business practices, expectations, deliverables, and operations.

About the Position:
The Analyst will work closely with all levels of the Gas Enablement team. The Analyst will help to facilitate, lead and coordinate the development of standardized and simplified business processes within the gas business which will see to replace legacy IT systems with modern technology solutions to drive the performance of how we serve our customers. The role is an intense development opportunity for recent college graduates. Involvement in the program is designed to assist and support graduates in developing as leaders, increasing the business talents and skills within National Grid.

The selected graduates will be working closely with the gas business which includes but not limited to:
Project Management:Graduates can be expected to participate in supporting the PMO team to ensure the governance of the program workflow consistently meets its target, budget and expected deliverables.
Technology Development:Graduates can be expected to assist in preparing field trials for new technologies by monitoring and documenting benefits, risks and cost of the new technology.
Process Improvement:Graduates can be expected to provide support in gathering critical data for analysis and risk assessment in building and creating “future state” conditions for the gas business.Furthermore, graduates will participate in workshops and field trials to assess and document changes.
Change Management:Graduates will contribute to the roll out plans to ensure successful implementation of the new process and technologies simultaneously ensuring the proper documentation are created as future resource and material.
Analytics:Graduates are expected to support the program by creating metrics, reporting and variety of tracking tools to ensure consistent monitoring of the progress of the plan.
Work with key business stakeholders to develop and gain alignment on positions in support of Gas Enablement plan.
Graduated between May 2015 and December 2016 with a Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution
Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and able to submit an official college transcript
Preference given to candidates with relevant internship experiences
Display leadership experience in at least one of the following:
College leadership position (e.g., student government, clubs, athletics).
Leadership and/or volunteer experience, in and/or out of the college environment
Experienced a full or part-time job while at college and acquired relevant work experience
Knowledge & Experience Required:
An aptitude for strategic thinking and analytical skills required, understanding of corporate finance, strategic and business planning desired.
Excellent communication (written, verbal, presentation) skills and ability to influence in a positive manner are necessary for success in this role.
Ability to appropriately tailor communication styles (both verbal and written) to convey complex/ambiguous concepts to a wide range of audiences.
Ability to influence decision-making is critical to bringing complex issues to successful conclusion.
Comfortable working in a matrix organization and effectively engaging with multiple stakeholders at various levels in the organization.
Experience and understanding of the US energy (electricity and natural gas) sector, regulatory/technology/business issues impacting the industry and future trends is highly desirable.
Strong team player – the Gas Enablement team is a small, specialized team that shares resources across projects.
Ability to build relationships within all levels of the organization.
Collaborative consultative style.
Inherent sense of balance between strategic thinking and pragmatic business decision making.
Drive for continuous development, both personally and as a key team member.
