System Security Specialist (Job Number:421105)
SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for a System Security Specialist located at Ft. Belvoir. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Performs high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers. Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities. Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Plans and implements the modernization of servers. Develops, implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules. Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience
DOD 85701.01-M IAT Level II certification and compliance upon hire
3+ years IA systems security experience or 5 years military security experience
Experience with Accreditation Process, Risk Management Framework(RMF), a System Security Plans (SSPs), Plan Of Actions and Milestones (POA&M), and other associated Body of Evidence documentation for system certifications and authorizations.
Experience with vulnerability scanners such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Windows Automated Security Scanning Program (WASSP), and DISA STIG Viewer
Possess a working knowledge of the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS), Vulnerability Management System (VMS), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) with associated Benchmarks and Checklists, Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM), Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), Bulletins (IAVBs), and Technical Advisories (TAs)
Familiarization with Incident Handling processes and reporting
Proficient with Microsoft Office in order to prepare and produce memorandums and all associated documents as required
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Familiarization with Remedy Trouble Ticket system
Familiarization with web portals
Strong customer service skills
Must currently possess a TS/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance
