CMH Museum Support (Job Number:421123)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide software assessment and development technical support to CMH at Fort Belvoir, VA, Ft. McNair, DC, and other CMH sites.
Create all system and software documentation to reflect implemented changes and ensure that all revised documentation is logged and stored in a Government-specified database or repository.
Conduct requirements evaluations of existing Army Museum Information System (AMIS) software application modules to determine suitability and compatibility to execute the required mission; report deficiencies and recommend remediation.
Participate in software assessments, software improvement planning, software process documentation, metrics collection, and metrics reporting. Maintain records of data for weekly data reports and follow all required procedures and security protocols as specified in written communication, meeting minutes, briefs, and Army regulations.
Provide assistance with historical data collection, storage, and analysis associated with the Army Historical Collection Accountability System (AHCAS) database module based on research and identification of objects under management.
Provide software transition and training support materials for end user usage. After receipt of required GFE hardware, software, and infrastructure capabilities, will provide web-based training materials for user usage. Test and validate that relevant training materials and software application updates are fully functional and operational upon completion of the effort.
Testing and evaluation support in the analysis and development of integrated system solutions to replace obsolete elements or to develop new capabilities within the AMIS support system. Senior level support for such efforts as operational testing, human factors optimization, and other evaluations.
Master and maintain the proficiency with the AHCAS database required to support the testing and training requirements above, using government provided equipment to adjust and enter cataloging records into the AHCAS database, as directed. Use the AHCAS database module to query and extract information to create and file historical property jackets from AHCAS records, retrieve and replace files, and make location changes in the on-line record.
Senior level support to verify cataloging information in AHCAS database module and conduct data cleansing and validation by working with assigned personnel to ensure the digital record reflects reality during the cataloging and data creation process.
Provide support for RFID tagging of artifacts, assist with prototyping RFID support within the AMIS database, and support report creation for the new functionality.
Attend project meetings, respond to technical questions and address requests for information.
This position requires a Bachelors degree in a related discipline such as Computer Science, etc. Ability to complete software assessments and development technical support activities.
