Description:



Senior HP Monitoring Applications Engineer responsible for administration, configuration and

- perational support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Network on the JRDC contract at

Schriever AFB, CO. Primary tools currently used are the HPE Business Service Management

(HPEBSM) suite. Build, test, and release monitoring tools associated with managing and reporting

- f networks, systems and services utilizing Business Service Manager/Operations Manager

Integrated (BSM/OMi), Business Process Monitor (BPM), Universal Configuration Management

Database (uCMDB), Universal Discovery (UD), Sitescope, Operations Manager for Windows (OMw),

Performance Manager (OVPM), Network Node Manager (NNMi). Deploy and maintain discovery

jobs; troubleshooting access or scripting errors as needed. Create and deploy VuGen/Loadrunner

scripts for synthetic user transactions. Setup Sitescope monitors and configure associate TQL

service views in BSM/OMi. Install and troubleshoot Operations Agents (OVO) on Windows and

UNIX servers. Configure and troubleshoot network discovery, polling, and alarming mechanisms.

Configure extended topology database and container views. Install and configure MIBs. Install and

configure various iSPI’s. Install, configure, and troubleshoot remote probes. Create, deploy, and

troubleshoot HTTP transaction service targets.

Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed

schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and

software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet

business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network

design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software

interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways,

etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Qualifications:
Master's degree in an IT related field and at least 10 years of development experience with HP
monitoring tools such as BSM, BPM and SiteScope.
- Team leadership skills are a must as well as
the ability to establish, maintain and follow documented processes and procedures. Candidates
must have completed and be enrolled in Continuing Education (CE) with a Security+ certification.

Must be capable of leading a small team of monitoring engineers.
- Candidates must possess or
have the ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance.

Familiarity with the MDA and BMDS programs and processes. Experience in operating,

maintaining, developing and configuring, OMw, NNM, OVPM, uCMDB, UD, BSM/OMi, BPM and

SiteScope. Experience working in an enterprise environment.The successful candidate will provide

design input, operational support, user support and planning function to these critical applications

for stability, optimal performance and integration with 3rd party COTS/GOTS products.
