Software Developer (Norfolk Naval Shipyard) (Job Number:421176)



Web application development using .NET and MS SQL Database Developer for a wide variety of web based client/server command business applications. Develop and maintain specialized databases, graphical user interfaces, and software to support command needs. Assist with special reports, emergent data calls, and respond to page or report requests from both internal and external customers. Will use Visual Studio 2010 Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and .NET 4.0, C#, ASP, MVC 3 (Razor Syntax), Entity Framework 4.1 (Code first), and MS SQL Server 2008.


- B.S. in Computer Science or related field is preferred. 6 years of experience in IT Industry may be substituted for degree.


- Must have at least 3-4 years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining web applications in advanced programming languages, specifically .NET, and connections to MS SQL databases.

- Ability to develop and write queries for large data sets is desired. Experience with Oracle database and development tools, such as Toad, is a plus.


- Must have DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliance including Security+ CE certification AND (Operational Environment certification or formal training is acceptable (Ex: MS SQL Database Administrator OR MCITP Developer Certification OR MCTS)).
