Systems/Simulations Engineer (Job Number:421227)


The Sensors Test Analysis Requirements Simulation (STARS) team is seeking an intermediate level systems or simulation engineer to provide technical and strategic guidance in support of the Missile Defense Agency’s sensor systems. Candidate must have good people skills and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers. This position requires experience with the development, operation, and use of engineering models and simulations.

Education and Experience:

- Must minimally possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Sciences and 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience with emphasis on software development or relevant engineering or physical sciences. Four (4+) years of experience may be used in lieu of degree.

Required Qualifications:

- Intermediate knowledge of radar systems and how they operate
- Experience in radar operations, concepts of operations with the ability to follow procedures and troubleshoot issues
- Must be able to interact effectively with individuals of different experience levels and backgrounds including government and external industry personnel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in one or all of systems engineering disciplines including, requirements, design, test, evaluation, verification and operations of various models and simulations
- Additional knowledge and/or experience with software development methodologies with Object Oriented languages such as C++

Desired Qualifications:

- Knowledge of major radar software systems such as AN/TPY-2
- Knowledge of modern simulation languages such as UML and SysML and their development tools is very important
- Experience with Matlab and Matlab Simulink
- Experience with Ada or Ada95 programming language
- A minimum of five years’ experience
- Should have real, hands- on experience with formal methods and approaches to perform verification/validation/qualification of fielded systems

Clearance Requirement:

- Must currently possess a Secret Clearance with the ability to achieve a Top Secret Clearance, if necessary
