We're expanding in Atlantic Canada and we need your skills, enthusiasm, and dedication as part of our team. Your future duties and responsibilities
? Analyze BRD/TRD user requirements for reports, forms, queries, and data extraction to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the business requirements.
? Create and document data profiles to drive data modeling and source to target mappings
? Define new business and data definitions
? Collaborate with analysts, architects and developers
? Create and maintain data mappings, transformation logic (for logical and physical models) to support implementation and ongoing maintenance of the operational data stores and warehouses.

? Ensure data models evolve to meet new and changing business needs.

? Assist modelers in the maintenance of storing source, design and target mappings and data definitions

? Possesses PL/SQL skills with an excellent understanding of the Oracle database environment and data warehouse design and modeling concepts.

? Has knowledge of database relationships and table design to support modeling approach and standards compliance.

? Provides detailed analysis on all new data model and ETL development requests to ensure the solution is developed in an efficient manner and works properly with other applications within the system.

? Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and works well in team environment.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
? Very good knowledge of consulting practices and systems development (SDLC)

? Proficient in Waterfall and Agile SDLC methodologies

? The employee must understand many complex technology subjects and be able to communicate effectively with others regarding these topics.

? Requires analytical ability necessary to understand computer systems and their components.

? Understands highly complex technical and workflow concepts required to ensure successful requirements definition and design.

? Applies considerable business and technical knowledge gained through experience to provide analysis and design on the most complex and critical projects.

? Has developed strong judgment and conceptual/analytical skills through experience, proactively asks the relevant questions to clarify work instruction or to analyze an issue.
? Exceptional attention to detail to accomplish critical tasks and write high quality technical documents.
? Must be able to understand the insurance, managed care business in order to intelligently interact with others.
? Requires ability to work on broadly defined technical and business problems diverse in scope and complexity

? Working knowledge in some of the following areas:
o Informatica ETL and Data Quality, Toad, SVN, MS Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
o Oracle 11g, SQL Server, MS Access, ERwin, ER/Studio, or similar tool
o Cognos or similar reporting tool
o Experience with highly normalized and star schema database approaches

Required Level of Education:

? A university degree in a relevant discipline and/or a Technical Diploma in IT with minimum of 8+ years of designing/enhancing information systems applications within a dynamic IS environment.
? Oracle Certification would be an asset
