The Online Merchant owns and is responsible for the entire spectrum of Online/Ecommerce channel strategies, initiatives, implementation plans and sales, margin and assortment growth plans for Grocery & Drug Business Unit within SHC. This role will be the ecommerce champion for the Grocery & Drug business unit, with responsibility for online strategy, planning, roadmap development, and execution. The Online Merchant acts as the principle liaison between the business unit and the ecommerce organization and builds strong relationships across the ecommerce business teams and the BU. The Online Merchant plays a pivotal role in activating, improving, and growing Grocery & Drug Online Business, which is one of our key strategic initiatives and focus areas. It is a highly strategic role with a lot of emphasis on execution through collaboration with multiple business, online and support teams. The Online Merchant is responsible for meeting planned sales, margin and online assortment growth goals for all Ecommerce/ online channels. The objectives will be met through expanded merchandise assortments, productive marketing, effective promotional planning and pricing initiatives for online channels, improving online experiences (SEO, Brand Shops, content, navigation, taxonomy/ classification, product search ability) and sound merchandise management. This position reports directly to the Director Strategy & Online. This position works closely with the management team, category teams, Online Business Unit, merchandise planning team, marketing/ promotional planning team, and merchandising support teams to significantly improve presentation, experience, promotions, assortment growth, and profitability.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Executes sales, margin and inventory plans for online channels
• Monitors performance versus plan to identify risks, opportunities, and trends and maintains robust reporting around these
• Manages all aspects of the online merchandise offering – selection, negotiation, marketing/promotion, pricing
• Serves as the main force behind driving the growth of the online brands, vendors, and product assortment
• Works collaboratively with the FLS Buying teams to make sure core assortment is online and presented properly
• Identifies gaps and develops online only assortments that compliment the core business offering and support departmental strategic goals
