Risk Reduction Test Engineer - PM Mission Command SETA

Join CSRA in developing and deploying integrated mission command and situational awareness capabilities to the Army and Joint forces in support of PM Mission Command. CSRA provides a range of engineering, architecture, business, integration, and readiness support services that spans the life cycle of Mission Command systems. Services provided include System of Systems (SoS) Engineering and Integration, Network Engineering, Architecture Development, Interoperability Engineering, Information Assurance (IA), Technology Transition/Insertion, Prototyping, Testing, Exercise and Demonstration support, Business Management, Logistics, Fielding, and Training support.

The Risk Reduction Test Engineer will serve as a member of the Project Manager Mission Command (PM MC), Technical Management Division (TMD) team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The duties/responsibilities of the Test Engineer include, but not limited to the following:

Senior Technical System Support
Coordinates across multiple program offices to plan and execute at a Systems of Systems (SoS) level, risk reduction test of all Misson Command ("MC") systems
Has general knowledge and performs hardware/software assembly, setup, configuration, deployment and network connectivity support for MC systems (GCCS-A, DDS, C2I, Enterprise Services, Chat, AFATDS, CPOF, JBC-P, JCR, TIGR, EMS/OHS/Projects/3D/MVR/TIGR/Fires) in support of Network Integration Evaluations (NIE) and Army Warfighter Assessments (AWA) Risk Reduction Events
Writes test plans to support test events
Provides engineering support to configure, modify, test, debug and operate MC systems to include software installation, network configuration, and system administration
Provides engineering support to maintain test lab equipment
Provides technical support for trouble-shooting and research of Test Incident Reports (TIRs) discussed at the Data Authentication Group (DAG) and resolved, and adjudicated at the Executive Scoring Committee (ESC).
Provides support in maintenance of System Integration Lab (SIL) integration events and excursions
Ability to operate systems as required with little or no help of developers or other senior technical staff
Execute day to day system support for testing as required
Assist product office with evaluation of IA fixes, architecture changes
Ability to correct software installation documentation as architecture setup is worked through
Ability to do expert level troubleshooting/debugging
Performs test analysis on complex project requirements
Responsible for resolving complex issues identified in testing
Provides documentation of any technical support actions taken on test floor while testing is underway (observation reports)
Supports new software checkouts of supported systems on the SIL floor
Reports issues to test lead and product office for visibility
Demonstrates extensive knowledge and understanding of structured analysis and design as it relates to the test design
Ability to translate system requirements into test cases
Ability to analyze level 1-3 data
Ability to develop data reduction methodology techniques
Ability to develop automated tools to analyze and review data
Knowledge of EPG Joint Tool Suite used to monitor and test systems
Travel Requirement: 35%

Essential Job Functions

Conducts moderately complex testing, troubleshooting and analysis tasks on various phase(s) of network systems development including integration, systems testing, interoperability testing, field test plans and customer acceptance plans to maintain the credibility/viability of the system.

Monitors the initial configuration and parameters of equipment for system credibility. Assists in the investigation and resolution of matters of significance in conjunction with other engineering and technical support to ensure cost effective and efficient resolution of problems.

Designs, develops, implements and maintains test processes and diagnostic programs for assigned projects. Completes specifications and procedures for new products.

Writes moderately complex test plans for assigned projects. Maintains record of test progress, documents test results, prepares reports and presents results as appropriate.

Works with clients to determine systems requirements. Assists lead engineer/management in writing proposals to recommend process/program and follows through on implementation.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or related field preferred

Six or more years of network testing experience

Experience working with computer systems and their uses

Experience working with telecommunications systems and their corresponding principles

Experience working with network management and protocol system testing

Experience working with scripting languages such as TCL, PERL, HP, etc

Experience working with data transmission protocols such as TCP/IP, etc.

Experience working with operating systems

Experience working with protocols and technologies such as HTTP, SSL, FTP, SMTP, POP3, etc

Experience working with network equipment: switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc.

Other Qualifications

Required Skills:
Candidate must be able to take written Software Installation Guides/Documentation and successfully setup, install, configure, manage and maintain the configured systems within a distributed network environment
Candidate must be able to integrate and test MC systems
Candidate must have experience in assisting with the development of test plans, test procedures and test reports
Candidate must have experience in the use, modification, and update of software test tools
Candidate must have experience in the development of software releases and elements of quality assurance and configuration management as they apply to C4I system test and evaluation
Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communications skills
Candidate must possess the proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.)
Ability to comprehend complex usage concept and assess an application's ability to fulfill them
Candidate must possess the ability to understand networking and security concepts
Good analytical and problem solving skills

Skilled in time, priority and task management

Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members

Presentation skills to present test results to individuals and groups
