Big Data Engineer- Full Stack

Position Description
CGI Federal seeks a highly-motivated Big Data Engineer to join their Data team. The candidate will join a team of data engineers and data scientists that will work on the collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing enterprise scale sets of data. Your future duties and responsibilities
? Design, build and support scalable, high performance data applications, repositories and data governance related applications
? Choosing optimal solutions to use for these purposes, then maintaining, implementing, and monitoring them
? Involved in the retrieval, processing, fusion, and analysis of data, the development of backend data architecture to support rapid analytics, and the development and deployment of data visualization tools and dashboards for monitoring key performance indicators
? Define data architecture standards and establish best practices for data management
? Drive Big Data POC's across the business, find use cases for Big Data technologies
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
? Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, Operations Research, or other physical science/engineering fields
? 5+ years of overall experience with 2+ years with Big Data tools and technologies
? Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles
? Fluency in Hadoop Ecosystem, e.g. MapReduce, Pig, Hive, and Spark
? Experience with building stream-processing systems, using solutions such as Storm or Spark-Streaming
? Algorithm development on high-performance systems
? Experience in data pipeline management, ETL/ELT, and data/system architecture
? Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources
? Experience with NoSQL databases, such as HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB
? Knowledge of various ETL techniques and frameworks, such as Flume
? Experience with various messaging systems, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
? Experience with Big Data ML toolkits, such as Mahout, SparkML, or H2O
? Good understanding of Lambda Architecture, along with its advantages and drawbacks
? Experience with Cloudera/MapR/Hortonworks/Databricks

? Experience with cloud providers ? Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure
? Experience in large scale machine learning
? Knowledge of data exploration and visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, D3, etc)
? Big Data certifications ? Hortonworks, Cloudera, Databricks
