CAD/CAM Drafter (Senior/Lead) - Aberdeen, MD (Job Number:421565)


SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for a Senior CAD/CAM Drafter. This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located in Aberdeen, MD.

The CAD/CAD drafter will work closely with design originators, preparing CAD/CAM drawings/models of unusual, complex, or original designs, which require a high degree of precision. Performs unusually difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and drafting expertise. Assures that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are resolved by the drawing produced. Exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on knowledge of the design intent. Although working primarily as a drafter, may occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details. May provide advice and guidance to lower level drafters or serve as coordinator and planner for large and complex drafting projects. Works independently, with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

- Requires AA/2-year degree in Engineering Technology or related scientific / technical discipline with 8 or more years’ experience.
- An additional 4 years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education.
