Multiple Openings exist for Engineers with Bachelor degree in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering exist to support Gas Pipeline & Facility workload due to growth, upgrades, replacements, and modifications.

Responsible for engineering activities related to major capital projects for the transmission and distribution of natural gas including gate stations, plant facilities, and transmission mains. Interface with other gas organizations to gather the information necessary to develop project work scopes that meet customer needs. May be responsible for supervising and instructing engineers and /or designers in the performance of their duties.
Detailed engineering to define mechanical and instrumentation and control requirements for the engineering and design of projects for the transmission and distribution of natural gas including regulator stations, metering stations, and transmission mains. Interface with State agencies and local municipalities on the construction of new gas facilities.
Analyze and interpret federal, state, and local codes to ensure Company compliance. Apply technical and industry codes, standards, and regulations as required to implement work assignments. Administer engineering and design performed by outside consultants. Assist in obtaining necessary permits and meeting with government officials.
Prepare procurement documents and specifications for material procurement and labor contracts. Technically qualify prospective bidders for furnishing material and for performing contracted work. Provide technical evaluation of bidders? proposals for furnishing equipment and/or for performing contracted work. Perform factory inspection of equipment.
Preparation of specifications for control system procurement including PLC's and RTU?s. Preparation of specifications for field mounted and panel mounted instruments and controls, such as, pressure and temperature transmitters, control valves, controllers, I/P?s, data recorders, control stations, flow meters, modems, computers and software. Develop instrument lists and instrumentation installation drawings applying appropriate instrumentation details.
Perform studies to evaluate the technical feasibility and/or economic benefit of proposed modifications to the various gas facilities. Perform and/or assist in project engineering activities such as cost estimating, scheduling, and coordination with other Departments and equipment suppliers.
Provide engineering support during construction and start-up of capital improvement projects and provide engineering assistance to various operating and constructing departments as required.

B.S. degree in Mechanical, Civil or Chemical engineering required plus a minimum of 5 years of related gas T&D engineering experience preferred. Strong communication, leadership and negotiation skills and the proven ability to act in a lead engineering position and coordinate multiple disciplines through all engineering, design and construction phases of a project. Background in contractor and equipment specification writing. A thorough knowledge of Federal DOT and New York State Codes related to the T&D of natural gas as well as applicable industry codes.
