Java Portal Developer

Position Description

? Consistently honours promises and commitments and takes responsibility for own development
? Consult with project sponsors regarding information flow and content including the facilitation of information gathering sessions
? Work with a Business Analyst and/or users to understand business reporting requirements
? Knowledge of database and development methodology, principles, and procedures is expected
? Utilization of software and techniques in the analysis and interpretation of complex data sets is expected
? Design and produce comprehensive computerized data queries and reports
? Consistently honours promises and commitments and takes responsibility for own actions, words, and work
? Able to work with diverse individuals/teams/customers. Able to interact and work with others as part of a team. Understands the role s/he plays on the team, and how his/her work supports the team's goals
? Take the lead to get complex issues resolved. May require assistance for more difficult issues
? Ability to work within a changing environment
? Good organizational and written/verbal communication skills
? Good presentation skills
? Positive attitude and team focus are required
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
? 5+ year?s experience as a developer with expert fluency in the following technologies and concepts:
* Java technologies
* Web application frameworks such as Spring and JSF
* iBatis
* Oracle and SQL Server
? BEA ALUI specific portlet experience

? Technical Diploma in IT with Equivalent Experience

Soft Skills:
? Very well organized
? Very detail orientated
? Able to multitask effectively
? Have excellent time management, task planning and prioritization skills
? Able to adapt quickly to changing client requirements
? Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
? Strong written and oral communication skills
? Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients

Nice to Have Technical Skills:
? Spring or similar framework general experience
? Spring or similar Webflow experience
? Spring Webservices experience
? General web services experience (i.e. axis etc.)
? XMLBeans experience Junit AJAX CSS/HTML/JavaScript
? Experience with Websphere and/or JBoss would be an asset
