Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 2
years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
QS Experience on UK civil construction projects.
Experience in lump sum / trade packages within the construction industry.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Monitors progress within construction projects by measuring and evaluating installed quantities on a project against the plan. Metrics include exposure to cost benefit analysis. Value engineering, and feasibility studies pertaining to work, labour, and materials needed. Responsibilities include quantity tracking, forecasting, estimate loading, and MTO updating from IFC drawings for progress measurement. Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within project controls. Displays core competencies by analysing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills.
The prime responsibilities in assisting in the effective commercial practices within the Aspire Defence project will include:
Ensure information is available for timely and accurate applications for payment. - Adherence to Risk Management processes and procedures - Drafting of contractual correspondence - Preparation of accurate and prudent cost /value analysis - Budget preparation - Interim and Final account measurement – site measurement and drawing take off - Pricing and Rating variations and compensation events - Extension of Time - Interim payment and final account agreement of sub-contracts - Ensuring good quality and accurate records are kept - Maintenance of cost information. - Verification and agreement of Sundry Accounts - To assist in the production of Project Procurement Strategy Documentation - To assist in the production of Project Value Enhancement Plans
