Senior Engineer/Scientist (Job Number:421650)
SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for a Senior Engineer/Scientist to support work in Charleston, SC. This position is contingent upon contract award.
The Senior Engineer/Scientist is responsible for the development and deployment of Aviation Command and Control systems. This position will perform and/or direct other personnel in performing tasks involving technology assessment, system performance analysis, system integration planning, specification development, test and evaluation, communications information system concept formulation/design/analysis, hardware/software configuration, deployment, and training. This position shall have theoretical and conceptual knowledge, analytical skill and work experience as well as specific systems knowledge and experience necessary to perform the comprehensive analysis of the identified Aviation Command and Control system concepts, designs and test requirements.
The designee shall demonstrate good problem solving skills and experience overseeing accomplishments of multiple tasks by multiple project leads. The designee shall be skilled in the selection, adaptation, extension, and application of sophisticated analytical tools, such as computer simulation, automated data analysis techniques, throughput analysis, and other similar methodologies and techniques. The designee shall be knowledgeable and skilled in all financial management processes and budgeting. He/she shall be skilled in writing and validating technical reports. The position is customer-oriented.
Basic Education, Skills and Experience:
- BS degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or computer science.
- The degree(s) shall be from an ABET accredited program or accredited within the field of discipline (Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology degrees do not qualify).
15 years of overall experience, to include ten (10) years of experience in Aviation Command and Control Field, to include: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test & Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support of C4ISR requirements.
Five (5) years of technical experience in support of Aviation Command and Control projects.
In addition, the succesful candidate will w
- rk towards the following certifications within one and a half year after assuming duties: Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) (Previously known as Certified Software Engineering Professional (CSEP)), or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Sun Certified Professional (SCP), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), other).
