Position Overview

WhirlWind Technologies, LLC is seeking a Senior Lead Network Engineer to manage and supervise a team of network engineers for network infrastructure operation. The Senior Lead Network Engineer will serve as the site lead and will apply best practices to bring specialized network infrastructure up to standards. The Senior Lead Network Engineer will ensure client’s web applications are online and accessible throughout the world by optimizing the network. The Senior Lead Network Engineer will report directly to the Program Manager of Client Experience & Delivery.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

--Act as an Expert level SME in the areas of Routing and Switching technologies and system IP communication.
--Produce technically excellent network solutions architecture in alignment with business needs.
--Work closely with SMEs from Civilian Information System Division (CISD) team to maintain a high performing and robust network infrastructure.
--Lead Network Engineers to execute projects in the area of WAN and LAN.
--Assist in providing scope and cost for the project.
--Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability by being proactive.
--Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
--Manage devices including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls , Juniper firewalls, F5 Load balancers, Netscaler, SAN switches and server chassis blade switches.
--Provide direct support in daily network and systems operations including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
--Troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software.
--Research new technologies, products, tools and protocols to move network into virtualization and cloud.
--Check and test hardware devices at the logical level, working with communication protocols.
--Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

--Secret Clearance
--8 - 10 years of experience working with LAN/WAN infrastructure and administration
--8-10 years of Project Management experience
--Prior working experience as Sr. Network Engineer in a global company with 10,000+ users
--Experience in installing and configuring routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers
--Experience with F5 load balancers
--Expert level knowledge of design and administering global WAN (MPLS, DMVPN), LAN (Wired and Wireless) network
--Experience with test tools, traffic generators and simulation tools
--Expert level knowledge of Cisco Nexus, IOS, Routers/Switches
--Experience with Cisco Platform

Preferred Certifications

--Cisco Certification CCNP, CCIE
--Project Management Professional
