As the Network Security Specialist you will provide guidance, research and recommendations to the customer regarding processing of unclassified and classified information on information systems IAW compliant with applicable regulations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Provide technical and procedural Information System (IS) Security advice to government and industrial teams.
•Perform IS risk assessments at government and industrial sites.
•Evaluate government and industrial Automated Information System Security plans and programs and prepare correspondence for government signature that identifies discrepancies in submitted plans or approves and accredits the information system, LAN, or WAN.
•Develop concept of operations for new systems.
•Maintain technical security databases, files, and spreadsheets.
•Represent the customer in the conduct of security reviews and staff assistance visits at government and industry locations applying regulatory directives to ensure the location being reviewed is in compliance.
•Investigate computer security incidents utilizing government provided forensics and report findings to government authorities.
•Knowledge of Certification & Accreditation, system administrator functions, auditing & configuration management
•Experience in SAP and Collateral Information Systems (IS) Security
•Meets DoD 8570.1 Certification Requirements as a IA Technical Category II (for system and network administrators).
•Demonstrated knowledge and use of the following regulations: JAFAN 6/0; JAFAN 6/3; DCID 6/3; Joint DoDIIS/Cryptologic SCI Information Systems Security Standards; DoD 5105.21 M-1; Sensitive Compartmented Information Administrative Security Manual; AFMAN 14-304; The Security, Use and Dissemination of Sensitive Compartmented information; and DIACAP; DNI ICD 503 Regulations (Computer Security), knowledge of "New" Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
•Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and report writing
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI Security Clearance based upon a SSBI within the last five years
