Criminal Analyst - active Secret clearance required
CGI Federal is seeking a Criminal Analyst to perform data entry and analysis that supports the exchange of information between foreign and domestic law enforcement agencies.
Collect, evaluate, analyze and synthesize data from myriad sources in order to generate reports that support appropriate actions.
Perform database queries and annotate results in case files.
Prepare case files for further investigation by criminal investigators.
Search intelligence and law enforcement databases and information systems and open source data repositories and ensure its correlation with information in databases, message traffic and other formats.
Support the development and implementation of information strategies through the management, deployment and use of key information resources, including resource identifications and data maintenance.
Timely respond to requests by domestic and foreign law enforcement agencies seeking criminal and administrative investigative assistance from INTERPOL Washington.
Analyze and prepare case reports in compliance with INTERPOL Washington policies and procedures.
Review, edit, and draft concise summaries describing factual situations including criminal activity and judicial procedures.
Review, edit, and draft citations to criminal statutes and penalties, arrest warrant information, and personal identifiers ensuring proper form, accuracy and completeness.
Transmit case information, as appropriate, to law enforcement personnel internal and external to INTERPOL Washington.
Participate in training programs and subject matter expert meetings and conferences.
Maintain currency in investigative resources and techniques.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Senior Criminal Analyst.
? Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study preferred but can be substituted for Associate?s degree with experience
? One to five years of related experience as an intern, experience as a federal (military or civilian), state, local or tribal law enforcement officer or experience in intelligence analysis.
? Knowledge of matters pertaining to the criminal justice system, terrorism, transnational organized crime and international police cooperation.
? Experience with gathering data, analyzing findings, and documenting results.
? Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional relationships within a law enforcement community.
? Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
? Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
? Ability to use electronic and open sources such as the worldwide web to perform research and collect relevant information.
? Ability to perform as a member of a team.
Ability to successfully complete a CGI Background Investigation to include; 50 State Criminal, Education, Employment, Credit and Driving Records Checks
Must possess a Department of Justice moderate risk public trust; active Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred
