PRIMARY PURPOSE Responsible for completion of activities associated with the institutional orientation, department specific orientation, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other systems training, competency skills testing, observation processes, functions and flows of patient with in the patient care area, shadowing clinical staff in patient care areas, etc., while in the credentialing process. Employees in this classification are limited to non-patient care activities, until privileges are grand by the Parkland Board of Managers. The credentialing process must be completed within 120 days of hire.
MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education: -Must have completed a post-graduate or graduate level Nurse Practitioner educational program accredited by a national nursing education accrediting body that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Board of Nursing. -Must have a Master's degree in Nursing.
Certification/Registration/Licensure: -Must have current, valid RN license or temporary RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license. -Must have a current license from the Texas Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with authorization to practice as a Family, Adult, Gerontology, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Acute Care, Women's Health, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, or Nurse Midwife by the Texas Board of Nursing. -Must have active certification as Nurse Practitioner by one of the following: -Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Program (AANPCP) - OR - -Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) by ANCC or AANPCP - OR - -Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (GNP) by ANCC or AANPCP - OR - -Adult-Gerontology-Primary Care Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or AANPCP - OR - -Adult-Gerontology-Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or American Association of Critical-Care Nurses Certification Corporation (AACNC) - OR - -Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) by ANCC or AACNCC -Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) by the National Certification Corporation - OR - -Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care (PNP-PC or PPCNP) by Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or ANCC - OR - -Certified Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) - OR - -Neonatal Nurse Practitioner ¿Neonatal intensive care certified by the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
-Must have current CPR-Healthcare Provider (CPR-HP) certification from one of the following: o American Heart Association o American Red Cross o Military Training Network
-Must meet and maintain licensing and registration requirements as delineated by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, and Credentialing Policies/Procedures, if any.
Skills or Special Abilities: -Must have effective written and verbal communication skills in working with a diverse population of patients and families, nurses, physicians and community agencies. -Must have knowledge and skill in educating patients and families. -Must demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
