Configuration Management Specialist

Position Description
Position Summary:
CGI Federal is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist position to work in our San Diego, CA location. The successful candidate will provide support to Joint Space Operations Center Mission Systems.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
- Will work on developmental and operational teams to create and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) supporting developmental and operational systems.
- Implement CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements/capabilities baselines to systems end-of-life including change controls and configuration audits.
- Assist in implementing hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure Development, Test, Acceptance, Production Environments are identical in configuration as applicable.
- Ensure Department Security requirements are implemented on all the Hardware and Software at all times.
- Understand basic concepts, documentation, assist in maintaining and developing the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing, and integration.
- Assist in defining and implementing hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, such as creating product build scripts and procedures, and integrating those scripts with the hardware and software build process
- Utilize configuration management tools (e.g. DOORS, Eclipse) to store, track, and manage configuration items.
- Serve as an adviser to Government Change Control Board (CCB)
- Systematically controls and reports changes to program software and documentation and their statuses via Engineering Review Boards (ERB), Configuration Control Boards (CCB), and Defense Collaboration Services (DCS) facilitation.
- Maintains accurate accounting of data for traceability across projects, and verified compliance of program software, documents, and actions with specific requirements, processes, and procedures.
- Provides continual status reporting on best practices and engage in ongoing process improvement.
- Generates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure control of all integration products (i.e., software and documentation) processed for JMS.
- Systematically controls, records, and reports changes to program software and documentation and their statuses via Confluence, JIRA, and Subversion in support of the RITE Process.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Two (2) years experience in configuration management (CM) of complex software systems
(system of systems concepts)
- IAT-II Certification or ability to obtain IAT-II Certification within 45 days.
- 1 year of work demonstrable experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
- 3 years demonstrable experience with software configuration management/software quality assurance
- Certification in Configuration Management Process Improvement Center (CMPIC) courses 1-4 at a minimum or equivalent certification (s)
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience with Configuration Management Accounting System (CMAS) database
- Experience with a software development life cycle, product versioning, and versioning systems.
- Experience with the management of configuration data for multiple system variants at multiple user sites.
- Knowledge of licensing methodologies.
- Knowledge of security classification, markings, and policies for safe handling of
classified or sensitive material to include export controlled items, For Official Use Only,
and access to restricted material.
- Knowledge of and ability to create media, perform status accounting, and maintain
computer files and computer-oriented and/or documented material in a library.

Additional Requirements:
- Ability to successfully complete the CGI Background Investigation to include; 50 State Criminal, Education and Employment; Additionally, your ability to successfully complete a Credit and/or Driving Records Checks may be conducted if required by the contract for continued employment.
- US Citizen; Possession of an interim SECRET security clearance
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret with a Special Clearance Investigation is required to begin employment.
- Bachelors or above from an accredited college or university in SE, CS, IS, Engineering Science, engineering management or related field is required. Four (4) years of SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelors.
- Demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to appropriately apply a methodology to projects that have reasonably well-defined project requirements and deliverables
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and SharePoint.
- Ability to successfully complete drug testing based on contract requirements.
- Ability to establish working relations at all organizational levels. Demonstrate ability to diplomatically and effectively deal with Government officials and program office stakeholders.
- Self-motivator with ability to work as part of a team or independently with little supervision or direction.
- Professional oral and written presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills

- Exposure to Agile methodology at a Federal Agency.
