Leads team members to identify, manage and execute the plant's process improvement opportunities. Manages production staff to attain production and quality goals. Identifies problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves issues. Ensures production resources, including materials, equipment and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules. Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service. Responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and creating an engaged and team-oriented work force to improve business results.  Bi-lingual helpful.



  1. Food Safety & Quality.
    • Responsible for food safety and quality.
    • Shall complete an orientation process which provides training in the Key Concepts of Food Safety and Quality.
    • Shall understand that identification of any failures in these areas is their responsibility
    • If they identify a deficiency in Food Safety and/or Quality, they are responsible for taking corrective action and reporting the issue to their direct supervisor or Quality supervisor.
    • Monitor production work methods to manage overall product to meet  quality objectives.


  1. Efficiency.
    • Assign work force efficiently according to production schedule and within Labor Agreement compliance.


  1. Personnel Development.
    • Promote teamwork to achieve Company’s goals and objectives.
    • Train, motivate, and direct line employees for safe, effective, and efficient performance.
    • Recognize good performance and take corrective action when needed.


  1. Compliance.
    • Coordinate teamwork efforts for a quality product within company specifications.
    • Ensure compliance with plant policies by administering corrective action in a timely manner.


  1. Safety.
    • Monitor operations of the lines and submit work orders as appropriate to ensure the safety of the employees.
    • Monitor and train respective employees in established safe work procedures.
    • Enforce the plant's safety program.
    • Participate in and support all safety programs.


  1. Recordkeeping.
    • Report daily production usage and line performance.
    • Coordinate efforts with payroll to assure accurate time and attendance.





Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality, complying with USDA, Quality Assurance, and OSHA requirements, and other regulatory issues common to the food industry. Manage frequent changes in production schedules and other regulatory rules, including, but not limited to; daily absenteeism, mechanical breakdowns.  Supervise large production areas within guidelines set forth by policies and SOP.  Perform these challenges while maintaining a safe and efficient operation.




Directly supervises 10 to 125 employees in the Production Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. Also responsible for employee recognition, addressing complaints, and disciplining employees as needed.




Authority staffing and maintaining start times of subordinates. Issue discipline as needed to employees.   Manage shutdowns and authorize time off for employees in accordance with current policies.  Refer to Quality Control for guidance regarding major quality issues, to the Maintenance Department on major repairs, and to the Human Resources Department on major disciplinary action while keeping the Managers informed of present matters and disposition of aged items.




Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, a minimum of four years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.  The ability to utilize personal computers and relevant software.




While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel.  The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, and taste and smell.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, and crouch.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
