The Director of Asset and Profit Protection - Pharmacy provides disciplined leadership to Pharmacy for the purpose of supporting the national(SHMC) AP Strategy. The Director must work collaboratively with the Pharmacy BU, Pharmacy Regional, field, and store Leadership Team to mitigate risks in stores and drive efficiency in operations to generate profit improvement(EBITDA). Such efforts will focus on assessing key BU performance, developing and implementing training to district and store level management, determining solutions to problems, and working collaboratively to implement solutions. The Director also is involved in working with the Support Center AP Team to develop a National Pharmacy AP Strategy, establish goals, and manage complex projects cross-functionally to ensure programs/processes are in place to achieve performance.

  • Owns Profit Improvement results in the Pharmacy through the development, implementation, and execution of the SHC National 5Play Strategy
  • Accountable for developing, implementing and directing the strategic and tactical components of the Asset Protection and Drug Diversion program across Kmart pharmacies.
  • Responsible for incorporating compliance into the overall pharmacy strategy and culture.
  • Analyzes information from reporting tools to determine critical priorities. Implements asset protection programs , to protect assets from loss due to internal/external theft, inventory management, and regulatory / compliance issues.
  • Conducts random assessments of Asset & Profit Protection and operational performance of Pharmacies and actively partners with the Pharmacy BU in the development and implementation of action plans to improve performance.
  • Leads and embeds the Asset & Profit Protection Five Play Strategy, and drives AP plans and projects using common tools, processes, and language (Portal, Metrics, Shrink Profit / VPC and Safety results)
  • Align and influence business partners to integrate asset protection priorities into daily operations as accountability to achieve execution. Works with field operations teams to define accountability and achieving desired results.
  • Serves as a member of the Pharmacy Leadership team and works cross-functionally to ensure achievement of all priorities, WIG's, and business targets
  • Conducts analysis to identify key areas of opportunity. Works cross-functionally with Regional and Market Teams to implement plans to address and leverage areas of strength.
  • Educates and motivates BU, field and store associates to achieve all P& L impacting accounts including; sales, shrink, worker's compensation, and general liability expense, cash loss, charge back expense, and margin outliers
  • Works with the store teams to identify and react to out of stocks, known stolen, and other operational data to mitigate profit impact
  • Demonstrates courageous leadership by identifying and communicating potential ethical or safety issues that must be addressed at a higher level
  • Ensures proper execution, follow-up, and analysis of the results of required inventories, inspections, and audits
  • Assists in managing the training, detection, investigation and successful resolution of all internal investigations
  • Serves as an advocate to ensure members and associates have a safe environment to shop and work in (OSHA requirements and general liability adherence)
  • Develops Asset & Profit Protection strategies with the member in mind
  • Assists in developing and implementing proactive drug prevention education and awareness training. Physical security audits, assessments, and facility management may be required.
  • Builds a strong bench of talent and strives to develop people for internal promotion via a structured and disciplined succession planning and development program
  • Supports the AP Learning and Development program by determining individual training opportunities within Pharmacy
  • Inspects the standardized Pharmacy Asset & Profit Protection operating model for consistency across Regions, Districts, and stores
  • Ensures accurate and timely report writing
  • Develop a standardized robbery prevention and de-escalation process for all Pharmacies, including Public View Monitors, and Closed Circuit Television equipment.
  • Approaches the expanded scope of the RDAP role with the goal of operational, administrative, and systemic improvement
  • Manages and ensures timely and complete reporting of critical incidents in assigned area of responsibility
  • Acts as lead corporate representative for crisis and emergency situations, provides updates and direction to mitigate impact of Pharmacy events.
  • In concert with other entities, serves as a liaison to build engagement between Kmart and the criminal justice community, courts, law enforcement, and other Retail Pharmacies
