About the Position:
Supervise team of processors responsible for payment exceptions and investigations, while managing relationships with our vendors.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Supervise staff that is responsible for processing all utility payment exceptions and return payment processing. Staff also performs payment investigations and communicates with internal and external stakeholders.
Analyze data and activities to provide relevant and up to date information to support decision-making and the effective working of National Grids Payment Processing department.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to share best practices, and provide technical advice and build bases of Influence.
Manage the day to day relationship with relevant internal parties or employees in order to understand their requirements, deliver appropriate, customized solutions and advice, and build cross-functional working in line with National Grid policies and processes.
Prepare and write relevant documentation in order that all stakeholders are fully informed and all evidence or statistics are documented.
Develop and maintain analytical systems, models and procedures In order to support design solutions and enhance time / consistency / safety / efficiency and operability.
Monitor and review financial information, updating where necessary in order to identify any anomalies or discrepancies and ensure management has access to up to date and accurate information.
Independently collate and analyze work unit and/or financial data within one or multiple areas using pre-determined tools, methods and formats in order to support the department's decision making process.
Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within assigned area.
Ensure systems and processes are well controlled and compliant with all regulations and laws, including Sarbanes Oxley.
Monitor the interface between National Grid's customer systems with the payment processing system for cash processing.
Research and analyze key themes from a wide range of data sources in order to identify how different scenarios may impact upon the business.
Proactively research, produce, monitor and analyze cost, policy or other Information to enable analysis of key themes and trends to identify how different scenarios may impact the business.
Lead, motivate and develop a professional team, prioritize work and allocate resources in order to ensure results are delivered in line with expectations and customer/business objectives. Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes.

Knowledge & Experience Required:
A Bachelor's degree in a related area required and up to 5 years of related supervisory experience.
In-depth experience of a field or multiple fields of work processes.
Knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation. Knowledge of current trends within the industry and developments in legislation or regulation.
Proficient in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience and proficiency in relevant company related IT systems.
