Information Assurance/Security Specialist (Job Number:422548)


SAIC is looking for a Information Assurance/Security Specialist (Journeyman) in Vicksburg, MS, Stennis, MS, Dayton,OH, APG, MD, and Maui, HI.

This candidate establishes database management systems, standards, requirements, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design and architecture, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy. Specific responsibilities of the Database Engineer include working with clients to translate business requirements into a logical model that will accurately support and represent the client's entity relationship and flow of data including: developing the appropriate database framework to convert the logical model into a physical model including the creation and maintenance of schemas containing windows, screens, tables and columns and reports that support the model; and making recommendations to maximize operating efficiency, support storage requirements and vendor software updates, enforce data governance, ensure recovery is maintained.

This candidate is responsible for the following:

(a) Determines enterprise information assurance and security standards.
(b) Develops and implements information assurance/security standards and procedures.
(c) Coordinates, develops, and evaluates security programs for an organization. Recommends information assurance/security solutions to support customers’ requirements.
(d) Identifies, reports, and resolves security violations.
(e) Establishes and satisfies information assurance and security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands.
(f) Supports customers at the highest levels in the development and implementation of doctrine and policies.
(g) Applies know-how to government and commercial common user systems, as well as to dedicated special purpose systems requiring specialized security features and procedures.
(h) Performs analysis, design, and development of security features for system architectures.
(i) Analyzes and defines security requirements for computer systems which may include mainframes, workstations, and personal computers.
(j) Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet security requirements.
(k) Provides integration and implementation of the computer system security solution.
(l) Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
(m) Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.
(n) Ensures that all information systems are functional and secure.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience.

Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
