Environmental Health and Safety Manager
Manage plant Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs to ensure minimal impact on the environment while providing a safe and incident-free work environment. Responsible for leading and supporting the development of a facility-wide EHS culture through technical support, program development, and relationship building. As a member of the plant’s leadership team reporting to the Plant Manager, the EH&S Manager is expected to collaborate with their peers to ensure the facility succeeds in achieving continuous improvement in all performance KPI’s.
Implement ConAgra’s Key Concepts of Safety to provide the road map to zero injuries and world class performance.
Engage with and involve hourly plant employees in the development and implementation of safety and health programs and improvements.
Implement Environmental Management System and maintain documentation to ensure compliance and complete all environmental reporting in a timely manner.
Provide leadership in raising awareness, tracking progress, and driving results against sustainability goals, including energy, water and waste.
Plan and/or deliver programs to train managers and employees in work site safety and environmental practices.
Promote plant safety, environmental responsibility and sustainability stewardship by working with all departments to analyze current situation and recommend improvements.
Analyze injury data to identify trends and incident types that can be prevented in the future.
Responsible for site security and food defense plan in accordance with corporate guidance.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, or Environmental Health and Safety.
Minimum of seven years of safety and environmental leadership experience in an industrial setting.
Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations
CSP and Food Defense certification preferred.
Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office applications)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interpret State and Federal regulations and applicability to facility to ensure compliance
Ability to write regulatory reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Experience performing risk assessments and audits
Experience working in a TPM, TQM, or Lean organization, along with a working knowledge of those tools, is preferred
