Job Summary: Responsible for batching raw materials in preparation for the blending process and maintaining the inventory associate with the batching room.
Essential Job Functions:
Follow all GMP, Quality, and Safety policies; interpret and understand SDS safety warnings and pictograms; utilize safe and proper raw material handling techniques.
Follow the shop order to select necessary bulk ingredients for the batch portion.
Collect raw materials from warehouse; set-up and verify ingredients needed to make batch portion of shop orders; accurately inspect the set-up to ensure all ingredients are present and in the correct quantities; complete transactions (i.e. issues, transfers, etc.) using BPCS and RF scanners.
Set up batches for blending and confirm items & quantities against the pick list.
Accurately record the amounts of material used by using RF gun; complete inventory transactions via RF gun including ISSUES and TRANSFERS.
Complete the schedule as directed by the Team Lead(s) each day and report any deficiencies to the Team Lead(s) as applicable.
Complete paperwork necessary.
Keep inventory in the batching room sealed and clean so ingredients do not become contaminated; keep work place clean and organized.
Weigh and pour/add ingredients in the proper sequence according to the shop order instructions.
Accurately record lot numbers and quantity of raw materials used per batch; complete all required Production (i.e. Process Monitor and Downtime logs), Quality, and Sanitation documentation and paperwork.
Complete all scheduled work and report any delays to the supervisor as appropriate.
Ensure all products are produced in compliance with company standards and applicable laws.
Perform cleaning and sanitation of associated work areas according to company policies and procedures.
May be assigned special tasks as needed
High School graduate
1 year experience in flavors or food plant operations; knowledge of weighing, pumping, pouring ingredients preferred
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English proficiently
Must be detailed oriented with a focus on safety, quality and accuracy of work
Must be able to perform basic math skills
Must be able to work as a team and multi-task
Must be available for overtime as needed, including Saturday
Forklift experience required
Capable of lifting/moving up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis
Ability to deal with constant change
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time (8 – 10 hours)
Ability to make frequent bending and full body rotating movements; must be able to climb stairs
Requires toleration to an environment of dust, powdery residues and chemical vapors.
Requires cleaning and sanitation of associated work areas; must be able to utilize cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents, and applicable PPE
Must be able to drive/operate a forklift and other powered industrial trucks
Requires, but not limited to, ability to wear all respective safety gear including protective clothing, shoes, fitted respirators and comply with all safety standard and laws --follow all PPE/Food Safety/OSHA Safety/Environmental SOP’s and checklists
