Responsible for completion of activities associated with the institutional orientation, department specific orientation, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other systems¿ training, competency skills testing, observation processes, functions and flows of patient with in the patient care area, shadowing clinical staff in patient care areas, etc., while in the credentialing process. Employees in this classification are limited to non-patient care activities, until privileges are grand by the Parkland Board of Managers. The credentialing process must be completed within 120 days of hire.
¿ MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS
Education: -Must have a Bachelor's degree. -Must have graduated from a physician assistant program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors.
Experience: -None. Equivalent Experience: -None. Certification/Registration/Licensure: -Must have active certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or become certified within one year of employment. -Must have a current Physician Assistant license or current Temporary Physician Assistance license from the Texas Board of Physician Assistants. -Must meet and maintain licensing and registration requirements as delineated by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, and Credentialing Policies/Procedures, if any. -Must have current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from one of the following: oAmerican Heart Association oAmerican Red Cross Rescuer oMilitary Training Network.
Skills or Special Abilities: ¿Must demonstrate clinical expertise in a diverse, fast paced practice community of teaching hospital physicians, nurses, therapists, patients, families, schools and social workers. ¿Must be organized and capable of monitoring patient progress through a complex healthcare delivery system. ¿Must have excellent oral and verbal communication skills to access, record and evaluate patient information. ¿Must demonstrate knowledge and skill in meeting age related and handicapped patient's needs. ¿Must demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
