Position Description
CGI Federal is seeking an experienced Internet of Things (IoT) Specialist to join our Digital Services Team in the Emerging Technologies Practice. IoT is driving innovations, such as smart city, smart manufacturing, smart agriculture, smart military, remote health monitoring, mobile workforces and more. As an IoT Engineer, you will work closely with other Solution Architects to help drive business initiatives strategy for end-to-end solutions that include intelligent sensors, gateways, analytics software, security appliances, networking devices, and other enterprise software components that support the digital government market needs. You will research, review, and develop cutting edge IoT technologies while leveraging key CGI developed software and business systems to enhance customer solutions. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge in the IoT ecosystem to evaluate and select the most appropriate IoT solutions (sensors, wireless protocols, gateways, cloud based IoT platform, services, integration, etc.), processes, and tools. Your future duties and responsibilities
As a key member of CGI Federal?s Digital Services Team in our Emerging Technologies Practice, you shall be responsible for the following:
?Work with Solution Architects, domain experts, and project team members to come to consensus on your proposed IoT solution and ensure project meets both client and end user needs.
?Design, develop, prototype IoT solutions and deliver Proof of Concepts for new and emerging markets such as regulatory agencies, autonomous vehicles, and Oil and Gas industry.
?Develop end-to-end IoT solution architecture including use of appropriate sensor technology, EDGE gateways, and cloud based IoT platform, middleware components, data modeling, and service-orientated architecture (SOA) solutions.
?Hands-on coding using Agile methodology, cloud technologies, wireless communication, mobile and web development.
?Interacting with suppliers to identify new technologies and product offerings to include user experience, product features, and competitive landscape.
?Ability to develop, write and deliver white papers, technical presentations and participate in industry conference panels or group discussions.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
? Deep understanding of IoT landscape and IoT technologies, trends, and capabilities.
? Must have experience with various IoT platforms such as Microsoft Azure IoT suite, AWS IoT platform, IBM Bluemix, etc.
?Working knowledge of various wireless technologies such as Bluetooth, BLE, ZigBee, Z-Wave, 6LowPAN, LoRaWAN, RF, WiFi, Cellular, Sigfox etc.
?Experience working with various IoT protocols (MQTT, XMPP, DDS, AMQP, CoAP) for connectivity between various things (D2D, S2S, D2S)
?Hands on experience with software development technology stack including Java, Mobile technologies, REST, SOAP, APIs, etc.
? 8+ years of hands-on work developing, implementing, and deploying internet related solutions and other digital solutions
? Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar engineering degrees
? Embedded Linux, microcontroller and/or FPGA experience

Desired Knowledge and Skills:
Have hands-on experience with developing and coding various sensor boards such as Intel Edison, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi etc.
?Familiarity using Big Data Analytics tools such as Tableau, Spark, Trifacta, Platfora, etc.
?Understanding of databases, and working knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, XML, JSON, Oracle, hBase, Cassandra, Hive, MongoDB, etc.
?Knowledge of remote access products, VPNs, gateways, firewalls, proxies, and networking configurations
?Government contracting knowledge desired
