Description Summary Receives, stores, and distributes products within a Cold Storage facility. Assists Warehouse personnel by expediting materials for inbounds and outbounds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas
Sorts and places items on racks according to predetermined sequence such as size, type or product code
Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms
Marks materials with identifying information
Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
Counts items for distribution
Compiles tickets from customer specifications
Drives forklift to transport stored items from warehouse to plant and from warehouse to truck or railcar
Loads and unloads trailers according to work orders
Loads railcars according to specifications
Help maintain inventory records by making sure transfers and changes are recorded accurately
Clean warehouse with hand brooms, power scrubbers, sweepers and vacuum cleaners to meet company standards
Keep inside dock areas free of accumulated dust and debris
Work in (0F to -5F) degree warehouse environment
Adjust and perform changing job duties, tasks, and functions ; Other duties may be assigned
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
