Full Time Employee
Operates and maintains the Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS) equipment. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) on assigned equipment. Coordinates schedule and work with Job Control. Verifies operability after maintenance actions. Documents all maintenance actions, isolates malfunctions. Incorporates approved system upgrades and engineering changes.
Maintains TCTS components in accordance with PM schedule, Work Instructions (WIs), as directed by manufacturers’ manuals. Performs system and network administration tasks. Manages workstations by installing and configuring approved software/hardware, administering user accounts. Performs software backups. Utilizes Linux and UNIX utilities to ensure system security and data integrity. Work typically requires detailed understanding of the interrelationships of computer OS diagnostics and routine operations. Performs complex troubleshooting tasks, isolates malfunctions, repairs to the discrete component level if necessary.. Exercises independent judgment on tasks and tracing anomalies in signal flow theory. Provides technical guidance to lower-level technicians. Assists mission coordinator/Range Training Officer (RTO) and performs Mission Line Up (MLU) functions when necessary. Work may be reviewed by the lead technician for compliance with accepted practices.
Receives pre-mission data from squadrons and inputs into MLU. Informs mission coordinator and /or squadron RTO when data is not received in a timely manner. Verifies all information received from the squadron is correct and is accurately reflected on the display system.
Operationally qualified at designated tech level within 6 month and Maintenance qualified within 1 year of hiring date.
Cross-trained and qualified to operate at least two additional TCTS.
Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy "C" School or vocational school with formal training in the field of computers and related electronic equipment maintenance and manufacturer or vendor training.
Three years’ computer/electronic systems maintenance and troubleshooting.
Three years of Tactical Training Range equipment: (TCTS/TACTS/ACMI) preferred.
UNIX/Linux Operating System (OS) and network administration experience.
Microsoft Windows (OS)
Must possess & maintain a valid state Driver’s License.
Must obtain & maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
Current Network+ or A+ certificate or obtain within 6 month
Must have and maintain a SECRET level security clearance.
Local candidates preferred.
Have one of either A+, Network + or Security + certification preferred. If does not have one of them, will have 6 months to obtain.
