Rockwell Collins continues to build on a strong history of providing navigation equipment to meet the evolving needs of commercial and military users. Our navigation solutions provide enhanced situational awareness and pinpoint accuracy for airborne and surface missions worldwide. Leading the way in the GPS and radio navigation technology, our array of products and systems cover airborne, precision-guided munitions, ground handheld receivers and embedded applications. Our solutions keep the warfighter safe, connected and informed by providing position, navigation and timing information in contested environments.
The Airborne Navigation Systems Engineering group is looking for an innovative Systems Engineering Co-Op, with a passion for success and a desire to expand their expertise by joining the industry-leading Global Positioning System (GPS) product team. The successful candidate will be part of an innovative, dedicated team responsible for designing, developing, testing and supporting GPS products.
The successful applicant will perform a variety of systems engineering activities on the current and next generation of military GPS products using leading edge tools, techniques, and methodologies. As a member of the team, you will learn to take on responsibilities that span all phases of system product development including requirements analysis and capture; system architecture definition and system design; requirements allocation and traceability; system integration; and system verification. Senior engineers will be available to provide mentoring to develop your skills as a system engineer and to increase your depth of knowledge in GPS technology.
Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance, for which US Citizenship is required.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

* As part of this opportunity the applicant will have the opportunity available to learn the following while on the team:
* Strong understanding of Rockwell Collins System Engineering processes
* Experience in Military GPS product development
* Experience in Commercial GPS product support
* Experience with system requirements development & management
* Experience with system integration and test
* Experience with modeling languages such as UML, SysML, and DoDAF
* Experience with Engineering Development tools like DOORS, Matlab, Simulink, Enterprise Architect, etc.
* Experience with GPS simulators
* Experience with hardware description languages (e.g. VHDL, etc.)
* Experience with modern software languages.
