We're now looking for a Transport Manager to take the helm of our daily transport operations!

?WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • To directly assist operational management by initiating, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of all warehousing activities and staff performance of your designated shift.
  • Accountable for forward planning of staffing levels for transport operations to drive productivity standards & operational performance
  • Responsible for driver and fleet legal compliance in accordance with DHL Asset Management Centre of Excellence standards
  • To manage and implement productivity by communicating job expectations to direct line reports, ensuring that all deadlines are safely met within allocated time frames while always maintaining standards of excellence
  • To track and trace shipping orders using a digital in-house tracking software system, ensuring that all legislation and records are maintained and kept at optimum level
  • Managing transport resources to ensure safe & legal operations, enforce walk around inspections, load security and gatehouse checks
  • To monitor recruitment levels and initiate staff training as required, keeping up-to-date records in-line with company policies

?WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Previous and practical experience as a Transport Manager/supervisor within a logistics environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain practices
  • Previous experience of the preparation and distribution of volume orders
  • Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage, organise and train direct reports
