About the Position:
Plan, develop and coordinate all training programs for Shared Services SAP related to; Hire to Retire, Meter to Cash, and Procure to Pay processes using all available delivery methods based on need, effectiveness and efficiency in order to provide and maintain a quality and cost-effective program. Maintain and update all associated training policies, procedures and training content and materials.
Develop detailed training plans for Shared Services Hire to Retire, Procure to Pay and Meter to Cash SAP related processes.
Identify, develop, maintain and deliver all training content over various training media: classroom, computer based training, self-instruction, train-the-trainer and e-learning methods.
Proactively develop and manage the relationship with Shared Services functions in order to manage requirements and the effectiveness of the training curriculum.
Analyze key themes and trends from a wide range of data sources in order to identify how different scenarios and action plans could improve training performance
Work closely with Performance Support Services group on support for all related communication strategies, projects and programs associated with training.
Partner with Operational Excellence teams to identify issues and lead continuous improvement efforts associated with training.
Prepare and write relevant documentation in order to maintain and update all associated training policies, procedures and training content and materials.
Build upon technical/professional skills within own area of specialism or of other processes in order to continually grow your personal contribution to the business.
Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain and share information that will benefit National Grid.
Work with business units to translate training objectives into well defined, differentiated training requirements with clearly defined business cases in order to support change and performance within Shared Services.
Support the day to day relationship with relevant internal parties or employees in order to understand their requirements, deliver appropriate, customized solutions and advice, and build cross-functional working in line with National Grid policies and processes.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to share best practice provide technical advice and build bases of influence.
Assist and coordinate work on projects by contributing to the development of training standards and processes to improve training program and delivery.
Keep up to date with market/regulatory developments within own profession/discipline in order to ensure the optimization of best practice for National Grid.
Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within assigned area.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
A Bachelor?s degree in relevant field and up to 2 years of related experience. Advanced degree/credits preferred. Supervisory experience a plus.
Have understanding of e-learning tools standards, techniques and tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing, technical writing, editing and proofing.
Ability to work independently as well as an effective team member across multiple departments
Proficient in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience in relevant training design and authoring tools
Understanding of project management techniques and methods.
Must have experience with the full life cycle of a training project from needs analysis through evaluation, using application of ADDIE concepts (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation).This includes scripting, designing, developing, incorporating multi-media and interactivity, assessment, testing and evaluation.
Knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation. Knowledge of current trends within the industry and developments in legislation or regulation.
Knowledge of National Grid's business operations, company policies and practices.
Experience and proficiency in relevant company related systems (e.g. SAP)
Business Focus: Has a good understanding of how the business works at department, functional and jurisdictional levels.
Planning & Thinking Ahead: An ability to think in both the short and the long term and can support analysis of potential problems and the preparation of contingency plans to ensure an effective training strategy and plan.
Instructional design: Demonstrates the ability to interpret corporate procedures/regulations to translate them into effective training courses.
Interpersonal Communication: Ability to communicate effectively to ensure clarity and understanding of the message.
