As a Senior Modeling and Simulation Analyst you will provide technical expertise as a member of the modeling, simulation, and analysis group of the Architectures and Analysis Division for the primary Department of Defense space oversight organization.
? Facilitate and support the development of enduring and executable mission area architectures and plans for implementation to influence and guide planning and requirements, programming, budgeting, and execution and to establish a common, shared vision and determine the strategic vectors needed to guide progress toward that vision.
? Develop and execute analysis plans in support of mission area architecture development, capabilities-based assessments, and architecture maintenance. This analysis includes, but is not limited to: performance, risk, cost, utility, and technical analyses of terrestrial, maritime, air, and space system concepts, mission concepts, system of systems concepts, mission area plans, system requirements, system and technical roadmaps, the industrial base, capability gaps, and architecture/trade studies; integration and evaluation of system of systems candidates to ensure total enterprise performance across national, DoD, IC, civil, and industrial communities and sharing of assets;quantification of the cross-community impact of adding or deleting capabilities from existing constellation and point design solutions; threat/scenario/operating environment development and evaluation; definition of quantifiable metrics, measures of performance and measures of effectiveness.
? Develop unique, tailored analysis methodologies and frameworks to perform analysis and assessments on a wide range of Enterprise areas to include, but not limited to, Space Control, Communications and Relay, ISR, and PNT.
? Qualitative and quantitative analysis performed, as required, with the use of systems engineering techniques and modeling & simulation hardware/software as available.
? Maintain awareness of community developments and changes in context, and periodically assessing the impacts to and the validity of the architectures.
? Monitor and report on the implementation/status of previously developed architectures.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) plus 7-9 yrs applicable experience in an Engineering, Scientific, Analysis, Policy or Planning fields. (Master's degree in SE&A).
? Experience in the architecture development field.
? Experience with analysis, modeling & simulation methodologies and/or optimization and game theory.
? Coding experience with MATLAB, Visual Basic, and Systems Tool Kit.
? Must have good interpersonal skills, organizational skills, oral presentation skills, and writing and documentation skills.
? Familiarity with Defense Space and National Security Space in the areas of policy, strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations.
? Familiarity with civil, commercial and international space capabilities.
? Experience with AFSPC, SMC, NRO, NASA, NOAA.
Travel: As required to destinations such as Los Angeles, Colorado Springs, Omaha, and local travel in and around the National Capital Region.
Job Location: Pentagon, Washington, DC and Fairfax, VA.
Security Requirements: Must possess an active TS/SCI to be considered for this position.
