Job Responsibilities

- Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing engineering team, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

- Develop and implement efficient engineering processes and standards to improve production quality and throughput.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate engineering activities with manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain operations.

- Supervise and mentor manufacturing engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development opportunities.

- Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and documentation for compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

- Manage the selection, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and tooling, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.

- Collaborate with research and development to transition new products from concept to production, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.

- Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.

- Ensure that all engineering activities adhere to environmental, health, and safety policies and regulations.

- Manage and control engineering project budgets, forecasts, and resources to meet financial targets.

- Facilitate communication between engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment on project goals and specifications.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or a closely related industry

- At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in an engineering environment

- Proficient in CAD software and engineering design principles

- Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements

- Experience with manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, metal fabrication, and composites

- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma certification preferred

- Strong project management skills

- Proven ability to lead and manage a technical team

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments such as Quality, Production, and R&D

- Proficient in MS Office and other relevant software tools

- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development

- Physical ability to work on the shop floor and attend to problems as they arise
