We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network Infrastructure Engineer to oversee the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of our hardware, software, and cloud/on-premise network infrastructure. This role requires a strategic leader who can guide the team responsible for the design, deployment, and reliability of systems, networks, storage, and software. The ideal candidate will ensure that all network, hardware, application software, and related procedures comply with organizational standards and operational requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the required hardware, software, and related cloud and on-premise network infrastructure
  • Provides thought leadership to team responsible for the design, deployment, and availability of systems, networks, storage, and software
  • ensures that network, hardware, application software, and related procedures adhere to organizational compliancy and operational requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties:

  • Performs:
  • Installs new, or rebuilds existing, network hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
  • Troubleshooting as required, leading problem-solving efforts with outside vendors, other technical personnel and/or organizations
    • Project management functions including managing the installation of new virtual networks and other special projects
    • Daily network monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all network, resources, systems and key processes, reviewing network, and application logs. Ongoing network performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization
    • Researches and recommends innovative, and possible automated approaches for network administration tasks; and, tests new and emerging technologies focused on enhancing Cloud operations
    • Applies patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade network appliances, tools and utilities
  • Configure various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) per specifications assigned for the project/customer
  • Configures, deploys and operates network infrastructure
  • Perform network setup, and/or upgrades for new and current customers
  • Define, label and document firewall rules
  • Daily monitoring of network and equipment health
  • Review of system alerts and logs
  • Recommendation for design improvements
  • Provide system and product training to lower level staff
  • Executes standard operating procedures
  • Extensive and proven experience in server architectures, storage architectures, high availability clustering, monitoring tools, backup/restore, performance tuning/capacity planning, documentation, project management, and have knowledge of best practices from large scale enterprise deployments

Other Duties:

  • Works with other departments’ teams, as requested, in recommending the required hardware and network topology for the right deployment architecture
  • Contributes to the development and completion of technical RFP’s
  • Performs on-call responsibilities and after-hours duties as necessary and/or directed by DSS Management
  • Manages the data center and computer host systems including hardware, software and equipment such as temperature monitoring, UPS (uninterrupted power system) and fire protection systems
  • Operates and provides support for enterprise communication systems in-house and on cloud

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills Required:

  • 4+ years of experience with any network related technologies such as switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access, VoIP, LAN, WAN, VLAN and QoS configuration
  • 2+ years of experience architecting, engineering and supporting cloud networks
  • Possesses a comprehensive working knowledge of Linux operating system, especially process and system monitoring facilities.
  • Has the ability to analyze and tune performance issues by leveraging various industry-standard monitoring and reporting tools
  • Has verifiable experience with:
  • Azure large-scale virtualized environments
  • Firewall, Routers, Switches, and Access Points
  • WAN and LAN configuration and troubleshooting skills
  • Network performance monitoring tools

  • Fluency in at least one scripting language, shell scripting.
  • Experience developing automation tools and frameworks for performance measurement and analysis.
  • Azure/AWS enterprise architecture and deployment
