Junior Cyber Security Engineer

Position Description
CGI Federal is looking for a Junior Cyber Security Engineer who will assist in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PCs, servers, network equipment, and software applications. Your future duties and responsibilities
Operates company's internal data communications systems. Plans, designs, and implements local and wide-area network solutions among multiple platforms and protocols (including IP and VOIP).
Supports/ troubleshoots network issues and coordinates with vendors for installation of items such as routers and switches. Works on project implementation.
Provides training and assists with proposal writing. Conducts project planning, cost analysis, and vendor comparisons.
Performs on-site and remote technical support.
Performs or assists inventorying all hardware and software resources.
Provides first- and second-line support of the server infrastructure, including AD, MS Exchange, and backup services, plus management of the firewalls, user accounts, switch and hardware, equipment set up, installation, configuration, and support of Windows technologies.
Assists in applying security risk assessment methodology to system development, including threat model development, vulnerability assessments, and resulting security risk analysis.
Assists in planning, organizing, and participating in the selection and application of appropriate system security and/or business continuity assurance.
Assists in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor?s Degree is required along with 1-2 years of experience assisting in the support of security, networks or desktop/server environments (including software applications).
Experience assisting in a range of O&M activities such as planning, design, documentation, and implementation.
Experience performing security risk assessments of systems including threat model development, vulnerability assessments, and resulting security risk analysis.
Experience with planning, organizing, and participating in the selection and application of appropriate system security and/or business continuity assurance.

Desired Certifications: Certified Authorization Professional (CAP), Certified Cyber Forensics Professional (CCFP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP), or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), or networking certifications from Cisco or other organizations (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE-ENT, CompTIA Network+, WCNA, etc.)
