Senior Project Manager- (Director level)

Position Description
Using established PM practices, the Senior Project Manager (Director level) is tasked with delivering the project on time and within budget adhering to high quality standards and meeting even higher client expectations. The individual will be responsible as the primary, on-site, client liaison, responsible for coordinating planning, developing, migrating and executing all project activities and deliverables including, but not limited to, scheduling, delivery of quality work products, risk mitigation, status reporting and resolution of issues. Your future duties and responsibilities
The Senior Project Manager will partner with the senior management from the client, CGI, and key subcontractors to identify and prioritize opportunities to achieve the goals of the project. Specifically, the individual will drive the overall project and scope management of a large, multi-phased project delivering a complex, COTS solution in a dynamic client environment.

Responsibilities include:

? Functioning as the primary liaison between the integrated project team and the client to ensure that the project is being delivered on time and on budget

? Providing guidance to executive level leadership across multiple organizations on project status, risks, and issues

? Reporting on project performance, identifying gaps, and directing improvements

The Senior Project Manager will:

? Be assigned exclusively to the management and coordination of the project

? Oversee the entire team including multiple subcontractors and ensure appropriate resources are available throughout the project

? Be authorized and empowered to make binding commitments relating to the project and the scope of activities

? Identify and track key project milestones and work with project scheduler to adjust project plans and/or resources to successfully deliver the project

? Build and manage a project plan that successfully monitors and guides the large-scale implementation of the project

? Manage to schedule and coordinate resources to ensure alignment of project deliverables

? Report and, as necessary, escalate issues and risks associated with solution delivery

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
? A minimum of 10 years? experience as project manager with at least 5 years leading large (greater than $25M) systems implementations delivered in multiple functional rollouts

? In-depth understanding of the software development life cycle and web-based applications for both custom and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software development

? Strong communicator (ability to communicate at all levels), skilled at stakeholder management (setting and managing expectations) and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization

? Adept at negotiating; able to resolve conflict (even amongst the client stakeholders) and adapt to different approaches using a variety of tactics

? Influencing skills (sound business and technical acumen as well as skilled at achieving buy-in for delivery strategies)

? Facilitate meetings to gain consensus/resolution

? Ability to navigate a highly fragmented client organization effectively

? Use good judgment & understanding of escalation procedures, escalation etiquette, and when to ask for help from internal leadership

? Ability to deal with politics

? Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to execute with limited information and ambiguity

? Strong technical acumen with the ability to translate business needs into technical language and vice versa

? Extensive knowledge of schedule management and ability to discern relevant dependencies

? PMP certified with demonstrated experience with PMBOK based project management control processes & techniques (risk, change, schedule, cost, & quality management)

? Bachelor?s degree
Desirable Skills

? Experience with pension administration program and software

? Experience with financial systems

? Experience working on State government IT projects

? Strong financial acumen, proven ability to connect the linkages of the project results to the financial and business benefits

? Ability to facilitate large groups (in person or over the phone)

? Working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel

? Master?s Degree

? Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
