Description:

Texas Biomed is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist. This position is responsible for the entry of vendor invoices and performing clerical/administrative duties and functions necessary to achieve vendor payments within established policies and procedures. Mid-level support role completes tasks under moderate supervision of the Accounting/AP Manager.


The Role:

· Process and prioritize incoming invoices to ensure vendor discounts are attained and vendors receive payment within stated terms.

· Assist in monitoring the Accounts Payable email account and Dropbox folders to ensure timely processing of vendor invoices, credits, statements, and other payments submitted. Ensure emails are responded to in a timely manner.

· Enter invoices in the accounting system for processing within the agreed upon terms.

· Review vendor monthly statements to resolve any outstanding payments.

· Assist in processing check runs weekly to issue payments via check, ACH or wire for all vendors and employees. This includes running all reports and files for bank processing, coordinating timely mailing and/or pickup of all checks.

· Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.

· Work with external auditors as needed for the financial audit, Uniform Guidance audit, and tax return.

· Assist in the distribution, replenishment, and reconciliation of Petty Cash.

· Perform various clerical tasks such as copying, scanning, filing, and maintaining documents.


Our Ideal Candidate:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.

· Two (2) years accounts payable, accounting, or bookkeeping experience required. May consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience in lieu of experience requirement.
