Job Responsibilities:
Cover and protect electrical panels; disassemble, clean and sanitize, reassemble and run equipment.
Accurately mix chemicals for hand wash and sanitation, correctly calculating the proper percentage of chemicals, water and other mixtures.
Perform general cleaning and maintenance of structural components such as walls, floors, HVAC units and ductwork, lights, pipes, windows and ceilings as defined in department specific cleaning form.
Must understand and follow food safety (SQF)/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards at all times.
Ensures internal drains are clean and working.
Ensures that working lines are protected from overspray and cross contamination.
Ensures compliance with all safety programs and maintains hazard free work areas.
Uses sound judgment and exercise caution to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
Must adhere to plant work standards, high quality and productivity standards per plant requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Listens to and follows instructions correctly.
Demonstrates job related skills in verbal and written communication in English.
Effectively rotates to all positions of Sanitation Worker on different schedules as needed.
Ability to operate production equipment in order to properly test, clean and evaluate cleaning effectiveness.
Must be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of all chemical mixtures and proper application.
Must be able to use motorized pallet jack, scissor lift, and fork lift to access and/or move equipment.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and to work at high elevations, in confined areas, in extreme heat and cold and in outside conditions on a regular basis.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Must participate in Continuing Education classes offered through the company.
Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP?s) and all other food safety requirements.
Must be certified in Lock- Out/Tag-Out and Chemical Handling.
Must pass fit test when job awarded and annually thereafter.
Work Environment:
Some positions will require working in very hot, humid and wet conditions
Most positions are located in areas with loud noise and will require the employee to wear protective ear plugs
Other conditions include wet floors, occasional strong odors from peppers and occasional fumes from cleaning chemicals
Working within confined spaces
Must be able to work any shift
Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as required

Skills and Abilities Required:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Food industry experience preferred
Computer controls (screens, keyboard) skills
Math and record keeping skills
Must possess a solid mechanical aptitude combined with technical training and/or the equivalent in manufacturing experience (preferably in food manufacturing).
Demonstrate creative troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
Candidate must be 18 years of age or older
Must be able to work any shift.
Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as required.
