As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Data Buoy Center (NDBC).



Responsibilities

Duties will include designing, planning, testing, installation and operation of electromechanical systems in the marine environment.



Qualifications

The Ideal Mechanical Engineer will have the following:

    • Experience in the design, planning, test, installation and operation of electromechanical systems in the marine environment.
    • Experience with design/repair/overhaul of marine systems, including hulls, appendages, superstructures, marine ocean structures, mooring, piping, power and cable systems.
    • Perform full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture) producing prototype and production drawing packages
    • Project engineering experience and marine structural design experience.
    • Experience with AutoCAD, Auto-Desk or similar 3D modeling software.
    • Experience with dynamic marine systems and/or underwater mooring design a plus
    • Experience with ORCAFlex a plus
    • BS in Mechanical, Ocean or Marine Engineering or related Engineering discipline
    • At least 2 years of experience preferred
