Purpose of role

  • Lead project planning, scheduling, controlling, and reporting for strategic, high impact, high risk projects delivered on time, on budget, within scope and within agreed quality standards.
  • Ensure country compliance to project management strategy governance, including application of appropriate methodologies and alignment to the business strategy.
  • Ensure start-ups are governed by project management methodology to achieve successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Set strategy governing direction and conduct of project management, including the application of appropriate methodologies.
  • Build strong relationships and manage expectations of all stakeholders.
  • Build strong working relationships with Executives (including Senior Management Team) to ensure business risk is managed before project issues arises.
  • Provide project leadership and constructive feedback to project teams and Sector teams.
  • Engage and influence business leaders to develop effective project risk management and improvement plans for critical projects.
  • Lead and direct an effective risk management process and supporting tool set to identify and mitigate commercial and operational risks.
  • Ensure regular review of performance and corrective action plans are implemented for critical projects.
  • Ensure regular review of project performance regardless of complexity level.
  • Sponsor the deployment of lessons learnt output and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor team/project members to support personal development.

Requirements

Essential

  • 10+ years’ experience in Project/ Program management leadership roles
  • Experience in managing large, complex projects using waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Experience in driving change and change management using change management methods
  • Ability to lead and manage a cross country, multicultural team.
  • Business level of Japanese and English language skills

Desirable

  • 10+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Logistics
  • DMAIC process improvement methodology
  • Experience in handling customer engagement - Risk identification/ mitigation.
  • Professional qualifications such as PMP
