The qualified candidate will be one of two Palm BEACH Mechanical Engineering Managers providing technical leadership and functional management of approximately 10-20 engineers. The candidate will have demonstrated previous mechanical/ocean engineering experience with research, planning, design and development of complex mechanical products and systems. Provides technical and tactical oversight and guidance to the mechanical engineering team. Reviews and approves functional proposal inputs, cost, BOE, and new business development. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. It is expected that the manager will be roughly 50% applied to direct program tasking. The manager will be responsible for development of the engineering strategy in the areas of skills, tools and processes to drive efficiency and affordability.

Basic Qualifications
Candidate must have proven technical and project leadership experience leading multi-disciplinary hardware teams through all stages of the product life-cycle.

Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to communicate well with peers and different levels of management.
Proven leader who motivates, inspires, and teaches others. Strong work ethic and self-motivation.

Demonstrated ability to provide clear guidance and direction to team while multi-tasking and prioritizing competing requirements.

Thinks strategically and act as change agent in responsible area with focus on affordability and advancing technical capabilities and innovation.

Must have the ability to obtain a DoD TS/SCI clearance

Proficiency with engineering design and analysis tools
Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
