Lockheed Martin Corporation's Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business is in search of an astute entry level professional to join our team in Orlando, FL. The engineer will support Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D simulation platform and participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (design, code, and test). The engineer will leverage RMS software engineering processes and procedures while performing their respective software engineering activities.
In this important role the software engineer will collaborate with other engineering disciplines and program personnel. Keeping up-to-date on emerging technologies and tools will be encouraged.
The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and have an strong software development background.

The Locale: Orlando is a city in the Central Florida area. Central Florida is a great place to live with lots of attractive residential housing available. The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast.
Basic qualifications for this role will include a Bachelor's level degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Development, or related technical field and zero years of professional experience. Entry level.
An applicable educational background in software systems and software development techniques is required. Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) using C++ and C# is required. The ability to be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, and team-oriented is required. The ability to multi-task is required. Strong interpersonal skills are required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. The ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment is required.
DirectX rendering skills, HLSL Shader experience, previous development using the Prepar3D SDK/PDK, networking/multiplayer knowledge, 3D modeling (3ds max), virtual reality experience, aviation/flight/aircraft knowledge, and software interface development skills are a huge plus.
