This is a 1st shift position as the Senior Manufacturing Engineer for the CH-53K Heavy Lift Program. Provide oversight to a team consisting of salary and contractors operating within the AFO Hangar, ensuring aircraft completion according to blueprint requirements, and meeting customer schedule. Must be able to work in a union environment and ensure accurate and thorough communications with key internal and external customers as well as employees. This position reviews and approves the majority of new work instructions required to keep operations flowing seamlessly. Work within hangar with A&P mechanics solving concerns as they arise during hangar operations. Answering highly technical SA1230?s, writing rework operation sheets and consulting technical manuals for guidance as required. Position requires individual to pass flight safety approvers testing in order to approve flight safety planning. Take leadership role for all cost initiatives within the center as well as reducing SRR/AR.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
?Have a working knowledge of tooling for aircraft installations and sub assembles.
?Responsible for manufacturing engineering support of all Hangar aircraft build while adhering to safety, quality, schedule, and cost requirements.
?Responsible for transition of work requirements between shifts.
?Manage employee development; must be able to develop employees skills and prepare them for future job assignments.
?Responsible for initiating and executing high visibility projects with little involvement from supervision.
?Provide producibility for EC incorporation
?Assist, train, and mentor all junior engineers.
?Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring standard work and Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) requirements are met
?Lead cost reductions efforts to continue to drive down cost of both SRR/AR and labor
?POC for all technical issues with arise during build on off shift and go between Operations and Core Engineering on any and all concerns
?Work closely with Programs, Operations and all other engineering disciplines to ensure alignment.
Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision is required. Flight operations experience required. Role works with A&P licensed mechanics, so technical ability is critical.
