The Computer Engineer will be responsible for developing embedded applications to support Aircraft Health Management Systems (HMS) and advanced analytic solutions. This includes, but is not limited to, the design, development, test, maintenance and improvement of embedded software.

The successful candidate will work closely with and support Computer Engineers, Software Engineers and Engineering subject matter experts to design and implement embedded applications that capture and process critical data from complex, distributed systems during operation.

Basic Qualifications
? B.S. in Computer Engineering or similar technical field
? 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
? Experience or coursework designing, developing, testing, maintaining and improving software
? Embedded systems development with an emphasis on technologies including *nix, C, C++ and shell scripts such as bash, perl, tcl
? Familiarity with common embedded frameworks / libraries such as STL, POSIX, Boost, POCO
? Network programming / TCP stack familiarity
? Development experience using tools such as Eclipse, DDD/GDB/Valgrind, profilers, Wireshark
? Knowledge of XML and associated toolsets
? Ability to obtain a Security Clearance

? Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly explain the trade-offs between possible software solutions
? Extremely good problem solving and organizational skills
? Passion for learning new languages and technologies

? Ability to Make technical decisions with tradeoffs and uncertain outcomes
? Knowledge of the software development lifecycle including distributed version control and agile development techniques
? Ability to create and understand ICD and API documentation, preferably using auto-generation tools like Javadoc, Doxygen, etc.
? Understanding of certification processes such as DO-178
