Candidate will participate in mechanical engineering design, development, and production support of lighter than air programs. The individual will be assigned varied tasks with direction from a senior lead engineer. Candidate should have knowledge of CAD tools, excellent written and verbal communications skills, and ability to work in a flexible and dynamic team environment. Candidate will be responsible for assisting engineers in the support and development of systems, working with subsystem specialists to coordinate and conduct feasibility studies and perform trade analyses, prepare briefing materials and present results at internal reviews. Candidate will also perform various duties including developing electronic package designs; investigating design factors such as equipment or part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, weight and cost; evaluating vendor designs; developing and maintaining all assembly and test documentation; trouble shooting and correcting anomalies and discrepant hardware. Successful candidate will also participate in failure investigation teams. Experience using 2D and 3D modeling CAD tools is preferred.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, etc. Engineering degree, from an accredited college or equivalent education and experience. Course work should include basic Mechanical Engineering fundamentals. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

Desired skills
Candidate should have an understanding and ability to apply basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts. Solid math and science background. Missile/aerospace related education/exposure. Knowledge of Mechanical Design principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); Fluency in Mechanical modeling and analysis tools, such as Pro-E, CREO, Autocad or similar tools. Fundamental understanding of structures and materials.Training in Finite Element Analysis and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics
