Provides system engineering leadership and program management support to HEL development programs. Integrates the activities of multiple engineering subject matter experts into cohesive deliverables. As a leader in an interdisciplinary engineering and technology team, directs and collaborates with subject matter experts in software, mechanical, power, thermal, electrical, production, and specialty engineering to support programs, pursuits, and internal R&D activities.

Basic Qualifications
Technical proficiency in the field of optical payload systems development and integration, with strong foundation in compact electro-optical systems. Experience in the integration of focal planes, associated read-out electronics, and image processing computers. Self-starter with initiative and tenacity to meet deadlines with quality products. Team-player with the ability to work with a diverse range of individuals to make cohesive and effective engineering teams. Effective in oral presentation. Good written and briefing slide development skills. Operative skill in MATLAB and industry standard software tools required to be effective in the position. Ability to support all phases of the product development starting with requirements definition (SRR), preliminary design (PDR), critical design (CDR), prototype testing, manufacturing oversight, vendor/supplier integration and oversight, qualification, system-level integration testing and verification.

Desired skills
Experience working on Missile Defense Agency programs. Demonstrated potential to advance in technical and programmatic responsibilities, supported by publications, advanced degree(s), and challenging program achievements. Working knowledge of seeker windows, and strong opto-mechanical systems knowledge. Proficient in ZEMAX and SIMULINK. Experience in supplier oversight and subcontractor performance integration. Experience in test-bed and instrumentation setup for experiments and demonstrations.
